If you are a building owner, you may be eligible to receive:

  • Up to $10,000 for modelling costs
  • Up to $800/kilowatt or $0.10/kWh of verified savings

If you are a design decision-maker (architect, engineer, consultant, etc.) you may be eligible to receive:

  • Up to $150/kilowatt or $0.01875/kWh of verified savings

Key benefits of energy efficient buildings include:

  • Lower long-term operating costs
  • Improved marketability
  • Greater occupant comfort
  • A smaller carbon footprint reducing the risk of climate change

Eligibility Requirements and Important Program Deadlines

  • Construction must be complete and comply with Part 3 of the Ontario Building Code
  • Building must be fully operational and delivering kW and/or kWh savings on or before December 31, 2020
  • Building must be intended for commercial, institutional, industrial or multi-residential occupancy and may include the following:
  • New buildings
  • New addition to an existing facility
  • Major renovation projects
  • Industrial buildings
  • Retail spaces
  • High-midrise buildings
  • Schools, colleges and universities
  • Hospitals, long-term care facilities, hotels, motels and agricultural building projects
